Hurricane Awareness
Hurricane season lasts until November 30. Prepare by visiting FEMA's Ready America. Also track any tropical storms and hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding areas by visiting the National Hurricane Center.

Library Services During Hurricane Events
The library will typically close part of the day previous to a Hurricane event and typically open again for the latter part of the day following a Hurricane event. In response to severe events or damages that arise from a hurricane, the closed period may extend longer than above noted.

Library Receives Grant
The Weslaco Public Library recently received a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission through a Loan Star Libraries Grant. This grant program provides direct grants-in-aid to public libraries that are members of the Texas Library System.

The library will purchase new computers which will replace only the old computers in the 2nd floor.
